Success at Bedford Open and British Pistol Club Open for Norwich City Target Club shooters

The 13 &14th January 2024 was a busy weekend for Norwich City Target Club shooters with members competing at the British Pistol Club Open Meeting at Bisley and the Bedford Open meeting.

Josh and Chris Wegg represented the club at the British Pistol Club Open meeting. Josh shot well over two matches with a 555 on day one. On day two Josh finished 5th in the Junior Mens final. Chris Wegg shot very consistently well over two days, just several points off of his personal best score.

At the Bedford Open the club had members competing in the rifle and pistol events. In the Rifle, Emily Flowerdew was second in Class B and Thomas Aldous 4th. In the Pistol George Mees was 5th in Class A, David Sweeting was 2nd in Class B and Tammy Oakley 4th in Class B. In the Pistol Aggregate, George Mees was 3rd in Class A.

Success for Norwich City Target Club junior shooters in the Eastern Region Schools shooting Championships

There has been success for 3 Norwich City Target Club juniors in the Eastern region schools shooting.

In the Eastern Region schools Pistol championship, Josh Wegg won the seniors category with excellent shooting in the final. This adds to Josh’s victory in the intermediate age category the previous year. Josh will now go on to represent Aylsham High School at the National Finals in February.

In the Eastern Region schools Rifle championship Emily Flowerdew was second, and Thomas Aldous third in the Precision rifle category. This category cover all school age groups from years 7-13. Both shooters will go on to represent Aylsham High School at the National Finals in February.

Congratulations to Josh, Emily and Thomas and we wish them the best of luck for the final.

The fantastic Isabelle with her medals won at the October open

Congratulations to superb junior Milton Keynes based shooter on her performance at our NCRA Open meeting in October. Isabelle won the overall Air Rifle category, the Air Rifle Junior category and the Air Rifle Aggregate. Bexley Target Shooting Club show us medals won at our NCRA Open meeting

Congratulations to James George, Mark Brownlow, Mo Sakikhales, Rob Thornton, Claire Thornton, Stacey Melvin, Richard Hodges on their medal winning performances at our Norfolk County Rifle Association Open Meeting. Norfolk County Rifle Association Open Meeting

Thank you to all shooters for supporting the Norfolk County Rifle Association. Air Open meeting hosted by us here at Norwich City Target Club. There were excellent performances across the board. Thank you very much to shooters travelling from other clubs across the country. It is always special for us to see old friends and to make new ones. We look forward to seeing you all next time.
